Hey Guys,
This is my first time blogging. I wanted to blog about our company at http://www.tablesaver.com/ We are a great source for quality custom made table pads. We can custom make a table pad for you, any size, any shape, and we have a variety of colors to choose from for the top and the bottom of your table pads.
You will receive our patented magna-locking system, which is basically a strip of very strong magnets made inside the connecting pads where the end pieces and leaves butt together, they help hold the table pad in place. You can use the magna-locks with or with out your leaf pads, (we cut the leaves separate, so you can mix and match them). The pads are a half inch thick, are spill proof, and have a 550 degree heat protection rating. The pads also come with a lifetime warranty.
The main question is, what shape is your table? If the table is square cornered, round, or has chopped corners etc., we will not require a pattern for those. If it is oval, scalloped, bowed ended or has bowed sides etc, we will need a pattern, but we might have the pattern already. See the bottom of this blog for a complete list of table manufactures that we have on file. We also have contacts at a lot of manufactures, that we can actually get the blue prints we need to custom make your table pad. We have a ton of table pad patterns on file. If you can give me the make and model number off your table, I can check to see if we have it in our database. Your model number is usually located on the underside of the table top. Let me know, as it might save you time and money and then we will not need for you to trace the pattern.
If your table is rectangle and the sides and the ends of the table, do not bow out -- it is really easy to trace a corner and you can fax it to us (if all the curved sections will fit on a regular sheet of paper) otherwise you will have to mail it to us. If the corners are small enough to match the size of a coin. Lay down a coin - penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar etc right on the corner of your table,, where the side and the end meet. If the round curve of your table matches the same contour as one of the coins, you can just tell me which coin it is and we will not require a pattern. If it is odd shaped, or does not match a coin perfect, then we will need a tracing. Patterned Corners - If the patterned part of one of the corners of your table will fit on a standard 8.5 by 11 sheet of paper, you can transfer the pattern onto the paper and fax it to us. Lay the sheet of paper on the corner and put a heavy book or something down on the paper (so it does not slide around) Then just take the side of a crayon and rub or transfer the corner of your table onto the paper. Let the crayon do all the work and just transfer the pattern or rub the pattern right on the paper, kind of like when we were kids and used to rub the transfer of a penny or leaves onto paper. It is the same concept. Just trace the top flat portion of the table, no side moldings or slanted edges, as the table pads can only be made flat. Once you have the impression on the paper, mark which is the side of the table and which is the end of the table. Also lay a standard sized credit card on the paper and trace around the card so in case the pattern shrinks or blows up during the fax, we will have a template to compare it to. Don't forget to put your name and address, then just fax it to us at 913-492-8701. You can even download our order form online and fax it to us with your pattern. https://secure2.spidertel.net/tablesaver/order.asp
If your table has more pattern than just a rounded corner, we will need to get a tracing of exactly half your table (usually where the leaf inserts start - out towards the end of the table) - As the other side of the table should be the exactly the same size and shape. If you have a large sheet of paper that will cover exactly half your table, usually the back of some wrapping paper, butchers paper, newspaper or equivalent will work - You can tape together as many pieces as you need to cover half the table. If you need some pattern paper, email me and I can mail you out some (although our pattern paper is not too big either, that is why I recommended that you use something there) Just lay it on the table and let it overlap a few inches on all the sides, lay some books or something heavy on the paper so it does not slide around on you. Then just take the side of a crayon and rub or transfer the whole perimeter end of the table. We need all the patterned parts of the table onto the paper. Let the crayon do all the work and just transfer the pattern or rub the pattern right on the paper, (kind of like when we were kids and used to rub the transfer of a penny or tree leaves onto a piece of paper -- It is the same concept) Just trace the top flat portion of the table, no side moldings or slanted edges, as the table pads can only be made flat (same when you measure -only the top flat portion). Once you have the impression on the paper, put your name, address etc. and you can even download our order form online and mail it to us with your pattern. On the order form is a place for your name, address, sizes, colors, leaf or pad storage bag options, rush shipping etc. Here is the direct link to the order form -- http://www.tablesaver.com/Table%20Saver-Order%20Form.pdf

You will need to give us the manufacturer and model number( sometimes found under the top) to verify that we have your pattern on file. We have at least one pattern on file for each of these manufacturers, but we probably don't have patterns for all of their tables.
